EXECUTIVE PRODUCER/CASTING DIRECTOR
Name: Cibee Jaime
Student: Graduate student
Fun Facts: Not Shy
Cibee Jaime is a graduate student at Missouri State University. Her aim is to be part of television production or start a production and event company. Her goal is to produce media that will invoke genuine emotion and provide valuable lessons, all the while maintaining aesthetic integrity and entertaining audiences. She received several awards, such as the 2010 News Program Category from Missouri Broadcast Education Association, 2011 Festival of Media Arts Student Video Competition honorable mention in the promotional category from BEA, and a College Television Award from the Academy of Arts and Science Emmy Foundation for Epilogue, as well as many others. She is the founder and Co-President of the new Missouri State University student organization, Academic Media Production Guild (AMPG). Now, she is venturing into a new web series, A Little Help!, and is embracing a new position as Executive Producer and Casting Director. I actually want to write something funny, however I am not a funny.
CONSULTING PRODUCER
Name: Diana Dru Botsford
Faculty: Missouri State University
Fun Facts:
Writer/Producer Diana Dru Botsford‘s work runs the gamut from producing for television & film to writing novels and screenplays including several Stargate SG-1 novels, the Star Trek TNG episode, “Rascal’s” and the award-winning science fiction webseries “Epilogue.” She founded Missouri State University's award-winning screenwriting program and most recently contributed to the up-and-coming Stargate short story anthology, “Far Horizons,” due from Fandemonium this fall. You can find out more about her at dianabotsford.com.
PRODUCER/WRITER/DIRECTOR
Name: Nich Peltz
Student: I finally graduated!
Fun Facts: I Don't know
Nich Peltz is a Digital Film Production major at Missouri State University. He is minoring in screenwriting and hopes to write for television and film. While not sure of his post-graduation plans, he hopes to fake it long enough to make it to Los Angeles. Nich most recently edited a senior thesis project, and can't wait to work with his cast and crew as the producer, writer, and director of A Little Help!
PRODUCER/ART DIRECTOR
Name: Jessi Paetzhold
Status: I graduated-Hire Me
Fun Facts: Jessi received her first and (so far) only Hollywood paycheck after spending a day outside in below-freezing temperatures as an extra for Phillip Phillip's "Gone, Gone, Gone" music video.
Aside from serving as the Art Director of A Little Help, Jessi Paetzhold was also one of the producers of the series. Jessi took part in several meetings prior to production with the other producers, writers and directors. These meetings consisted of everything from fine-tuning the script, to casting, to coming up with fundraising ideas and marketing plans. Jessi helped out throughout the audition process by greeting the actors at the registration table and evaluating their paperwork. As the editor-in-chief of AMP magazine, Jessi has been writing a variety of articles over A Little Help in preparation for its first issue. She helped create the tagline of AMPG and has also edited various articles submitted by other writers. Jessi loves to write just about as much as she loves to organize, so she has really enjoyed the opportunity to act as both a producer and editor-in-chief.
PRODUCER
Name: Courtney Youssef
Student: Junior
Fun Fact: Director at KLOR
I'm Courtney Youssef, a senior at Missouri State University, pursuing a degree in Media Production and Communication. On A Little Help I held several roles. I was Second Unit Producer and Location Manager. As a Second Unit Producer I looked at the scope of work for all Second Unit Production, and made sure all of our cutaway and establishing shots were there. Location managing was an entire different game, as it involved several days of planning, scouting, and phone calls to contacts. It was challenging to get these contacts to see the series for what it was- a large-scale production, and not a few college kids with a camcorder. A Little Help has allowed me to experience a professional production setting, where I learned things from quick problem solving, to technical camera skills. I'm excited as I move into even greater projects, as I now have a foundation of valuable skills from my time on what I thought was just going to be a fun class project.
PRODUCTION ACCOUNTANT
Name: Sarah A. Suttles
Student: Junior
Fun Fact: -
Senior at MSU majoring in Media Productions with minors in Advertising, Promotions, and General Business. She hopes to some day work for either Disney Studios or Universal
CREATOR/DIRECTOR/WRITER
Name: Kevin Shabel
Status: Project
Fun Facts: I will ask
The A Little Help script was written by Kevin Shabel and Nich Peltz. Kevin, a Writing and Producing for Television and Film major and MSU alumni, created A Little Help for an assignment in Professor Botsford’s teleplay class.
The original script was written as two segmented episodes and did not have an ending. However, when the script was chosen as the MJF web series, Kevin and Nich rewrote sections of the script in order to for it to be like a web series instead of television episodes, which meant having A Little Help be four short episodes and have an ending.
Kevin plans on backpacking in Europe for a summer and then returning to St. Louis to work on some other scripts with his friends. After that, he hopes to move to Los Angeles to pursue a film career.

Kevin Shabel is a graduate assistant in the Media, Journalism & Film department at Missouri State University. He is pursuing a graduate screenwriting certificate. He graduated from Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science in Writing and Producing for Television and Film, which is an individualized major. He produced a PSA about abusive head trauma, which took first place at last year's Broadcast Education Association awards. He also worked as Second Assistant Director and Location Manager on the award-winning web series, Epilogue. Fun fact: Kevin earned the rank of Eagle Scout in 2009. Kevin is super excited to be the creator, writer, and director of the upcoming web series A Little Help!

CASTING DIRECTOR

Fun Facts: An Asian
Q-- What was the main focus of the first round of auditions?
A-- The main focus of the first audition was to find the actors that fit to the roles. One thing that I am always thinking the whole time with audition was that we will put together
the right cast. It is quintessential elements to determined the quality of the production.
Q-- What are the deciding factors for callbacks?
A-- if the actor transforms into the character seamlessly
- have the magical charisma
- the confidence was there
- follow directions, and they connected.
- their prior work, and what we hear about their work ethics
- double checking for their availability
- and really I was also considering if how prepared and organized they are--and not making us wait, that's a red light for me.
- They grab my attention and the actor stood out.
- Overall, if they fit the role.
2ND UNIT DIRECTOR
Name: Ally Lewis
Student: Junior
Fun Facts: She won't tell me
A Little Help was my last major project before graduating Missouri State University with a degree in Digital Film Production. As the 2nd Unit Director for the series I made sure my camera operator got all the b-roll shots we could to use as cutaways, transitions, establishing shots, etc. It started out as a challenge trying to get what we needed while everybody else was focused on principal photography, but about halfway through production we got into a groove and were able to provide the editors with the shots they needed to put together a great series. A Little Help was a great learning experience and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to work on it. From pre-production to post-production I got to know a lot of talented students and made some great friends. This series has expanded my knowledge and skills of what it takes to create a great show. My future goals in life include moving out to LA to find work in TV, film, and live events and eventually I’d love to become an editor for major network television and/or feature films.

PROPERTY MASTER/SET DRESSER
Name: Dan J. Nichols
Student: Senior
Fun Fact: -
During preproduction, Dan jumped on the rare opportunity to invent a device that may very well be attached to all of our hips in the near future: the Wait ‘n Study 2000. “It’s a ridiculous contraption designed to allow one to wait tables and read a book at the same time. It works and looks absurd, so mission accomplished there,” said Dan. Dan also took it upon himself to provide Lenny’s best friend with some luxurious rabbit furniture, using only the finest of leathers for good ol’ George. Since the series was filmed in Missouri, Dan became an expert on surprisingly realistic, and smokeable, fake marijuana. “A much simpler but more time consuming task was creating the gallon of prop weed,” said Dan. For this prop, Dan relied on a lot of raspberry leaf, which he spent weeks gluing and rolling together. “It looks real, and no one accidentally smoked the glue, so that’s a win-win.”
PRODUCTION DESIGNER
Name: Kat Trussler
Status: Freelance
Fun Fact: -
The Production Designer of A Little Help, Kat Trussler, had so much knowledge and experience to provide to not only the art department, but the entire cast and crew. Having worked in the same role on a past (Emmy-awarded) Missouri State University production titled Epilogue, as well as local productions 180 and the Drifter series, Kat was able to serve as both a guide, and a mentor. Kat was a fantastic and essential asset to the A Little Help team, most notably during preproduction. She gave advice throughout the whole process, whether it was about locations, how to obtain a prop, the right makeup to use, or even about the several responsibilities of being on set.
ART DIRECTOR
Name: Jessi Paetzhold
Student: Senior
Fun Facts: Jessi received her first and (so far) only Hollywood paycheck after spending a day outside in below-freezing temperatures as an extra for Phillip Phillip's "Gone, Gone, Gone" music video.
Recent MSU grad Jessi Paetzhold served as the Art Director for A Little Help. She very much enjoys checking the weather forecast about 100 times a day, and she's not quite sure why. Another fun fact: Jessi is not 19, even though she may look it. Her job on the series consisted of staying on top of the props and set, costumes, makeup, and graphics. She worked closely with the prop masters on making sure the series would have plentiful and realistic-looking weed. Alongside the Production Designer and set dressers, she also helped organize and decorate all of the sets. The most important part of her role was during pre-production in which she created and recreated checklists that were several pages long. But they really did have to be that long, considering all of the quirky items needed to liven up each scene (artificial sperm, a gas mask bong, a sex swing…).
PROPERTY MAN/SET DRESSER
Name: Mike Melton
Student: Senior
Fun Fact: Not sure
Mike Melton played a significant role in the creation of Lisa’s prospective sperm. His fiancé actually concocts a laundry detergent, which Mike believed had the perfect look. “In a nutshell, she uses borax, powdered soap, bar soap shavings, and water. After you mix the ingredients and let it sit for a few days, it becomes a gooey, white substance that easily can be mistaken for sperm.” said Michael, “A lot of the people on set were quite amused by it.”
LEAD SET DRESSER
Name: Ryan Johnson
Student: Senior
Fun Fact: -
As Lead Set Dresser of A Little Help, Ryan Johnson not only collected objects and décor for each set during preproduction, but was also in charge of continuity and even the design of a few of the smaller sets.
SET DRESSER
Name: Nick Saverino
Student: Senior
Fun Fact: -
Nick Saverino played a large role in set construction during both the preproduction and production phases. As a set dresser, Nick helped prepare the bigger locations and took charge in the case of any absences within the set and props department.
WARDROBE SUPERVISOR/DESIGNER/DRESSER
Name: Brandijayne “Wingo” Wingert
Student: Junior
Fun Fact: I went to a house party in Austin Texas, found out while I was there it was the house from the movie Dazed and Confused.
My name is Brandijayne Wingert, I am a student at Missouri State. I am currently working on an Individualized Major for Wardrobe Production Design. I did the wardrobe for A Little Help web series. I have always been fascinated with films and how they are made. When I watch a movie, or one of my favorite shows, I study how the characters are dressed and see how that brings out their personality. Working on the web series has shown me many things about how to make sure your time is spent properly on what you need to get done. I found creative ways to make do with the budget I was given to ensure that I had everything I needed to dress the cast in the vision of the directors. My advice? Be nice and get to know your fellow crew members. They were very helpful when I had to borrow pieces of clothing on the spot. Thank you ALH crew!
WARDROBE DRESSER
Name: Cody Harness
Student: Senior
Fun Fact: -
Cody assisted Brandijayne in getting the cast dressed for each scene, and also created one of the most memorable pieces of A Little Help: the purple bear costume.

Fun Fact: Born with two belly buttons.
Zachary Voiles is an aspiring mass media production student at Missouri State University who helped develop and establish the initial draft of the A Little Help website. Having taken previous classes in the field as well as possessing the certain degree of technical know-how to spur such a project, this senior gives it his all in any way that he can. The initial goal of the A Little Help website was a place to house the series that was fun, informative, and above all, easy to navigate. Although the aesthetic design of the website is fundamentally different than what the website team had originally envisioned, the overall themes that the senior had hoped to see in the website have ultimately come to fruition. The current website you are reading this on is a testament to the hard work and dedication that went into the production as a whole, and above all, the satisfaction of his classmates remain the most important to him.

BREEDER & RABBIT HANDLER
My name is Anna. I am 15 years old, homeschooled, and in 10th grade. I live in the beautiful Ozarks of Southwest Missouri, and started raising rabbits about 3 years ago. I raise Dutch and English Angora rabbits, and love being an amateur bunny photographer.
I began with my Dutch rabbits, loving bunnies that were small, had great personalities, and were easy to handle. After about 2 years of raising the Dutch, I moved on to English Angoras. The English Angoras are fluffy, beautiful rabbits that I groom almost daily; they also act like puppies. At first, I just raised bunnies for fun, but I eventually went on to compete in a statewide show. My rabbits are a huge part of me, and I love everything about them. They are all my little fuzzy (and wooly) friends!

As a student working on a student project it was a challenge to convey just exactly how big of a production this was. We contacted a lot of people and heard a lot of questionable “yes’s” but once we finished shooting at each of their locations, they were definitely glad to have been able to help with our production.

ASSISTANT EDITOR/TRAILER EDITOR
Name: Kyle Ragsdale

Fun Facts: I will e-mail him
For A Little Help, I was an assistant editor and designed the series credits. For the credits, we went through many revisions for each episode to get all the names right. In terms of editing, being an assistant editor was one of the most challenging things I’ve ever done. I had two other assistant editors to work with, and we each spent a lot of our time logging footage and preparing the avid projects. This streamlined the process for the editors, allowing them to start editing more quickly and efficiently. In addition to this, we were responsible for getting all the dailies pushed out to the team after each day of shooting. We each had shifts of going on-set to retrieve and log footage, but often those shifts overlapped, allowing us to spend quality time together. Like I said, we spent a lot of time in that lab. Some nights I wouldn’t get out of there until 2 A.M…but I’d do it all again if I could. For your health.”

MANAGING EDITOR FOR AMP E-MAGAZINE

Fun Fact: 0
Meghan is an aspiring actress and screenwriter. She double majors in Digital Film Production and Public Relations and double minors in Filmmaking and Screenwriting at Missouri State University. She joined the ALH team during the post-production stages, mostly aiding in editing articles for the AMPG magazine. While there weren’t many edits she could help out with on the Avid system, she was able to give a different perspective on certain scenes within the series.
Although her passion is acting, helping out with the web series, A Little Help, has been extremely beneficial to her education. She learned how much work goes into not only the pre-production and production stages of a project but was also able to see how vital the post-production team is. Learning what happens during the post-production stages has made her more aware of an actress in front of the camera.
